Pet Food Pantry
Just as CAART comes to the aid of animals in a disaster, the Pet Food Pantry was born out of the great need in our community for aid during the financial disaster that some pet owners face in the current economic climate.
Our mission is to provide a temporary pet food supply to owners who might otherwise be forced to surrender their pets due to financial hardship.
Families in our community are facing heartbreaking choices. The monthly cost to care for and feed a pet often forces people to decide that the pet is too expensive to keep. Can you imagine having to surrender your beloved pets?
We hold distributions on the first Saturday of every month, and the need continues to grow. From June 2009 to June 2010, the organization...
- distributed more than 120,000 pounds of pet food and supplies
- served 520 households and 2,350 pets
- helped offset the cost of 75 spay/neuters for Pet Food Pantry pets

to help area pet owners. Because we are able to buy quality pet foods
at a discount, every donation is utilized to the fullest to bring food
